Gas Fireplace Repair

Gas Fireplace Repair

Annual maintenance is essential for your gas fireplace

Your gas fireplace provides a safe, efficient and comfortable home for your family. Climate Technology provides Colorado Springs residents with gas fireplace repair, maintenance and service.

Gas fireplaces are gas-fueled appliances and as such, can be dangerous—even hazardous to your family—if not handled properly and if not serviced regularly by a qualified technician.

Annual maintenance keeps your gas fireplace running at peak performance and enhances its life span by ensuring the proper functioning of all components. It also helps reduce costly repairs and the inconvenience of breakdowns during the cold winter months.

Comfort and beauty-a clean and well-maintained gas fireplace can add warmth and appeal to your house. Homes with gas fireplaces have increased aesthetic value. Regular maintenance protects your investment

Gas Fireplaces Require Annual Service

Most homeowners don’t realize that gas fireplaces require yearly maintenance and service just like the home’s furnace and heating system. All major gas appliances, including gas fireplaces should be serviced annually as recommended by all major gas fireplace product manufacturers and utility companies. If maintained properly, a gas fireplace can add an elegant look to a room; however, if left without proper service, it can look like a box in the wall.

Cuddling up in front of a fire is one of the best reasons to own a gas fireplace. In addition, gas fireplaces cost a fraction to burn compared to gas furnaces. According to the Governor’s Energy Office, as much as HALF of the energy used in your home goes to heating and cooling, so the savings in using a well-maintained gas fireplace as an alternative heat source offers a win-win for your comfort and your budget.

A Well Maintained Fireplace Will Save Energy

Gas fireplaces are truly small furnaces. If your gas fireplace is properly maintained it will radiate heat and create enough warmth for several rooms of your home. Your gas fireplace can help you enjoy energy savings through regular fireplace tune-up, which ensures its peak performance, therefore getting the most out of your fuel dollars.

Have Your Gas Fireplace Checked for Carbon Monoxide

Colorado Springs Utilities promotes “Safety First” and encourages homeowners to have their furnace and other gas-burning appliances inspected by a licensed heating contractor. In addition, this will lessen your risk for Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning. It’s important to also install a CO alarm on each floor of your home and by law – within 15 feet of each bedroom. We will gladly perform this service for you during any of our fireplace services, for just our price of the carbon monoxide detector.

Malfunctioning gas fireplaces, however, may not operate efficiently and cost-effectively for a number of reasons, including poor maintenance; inefficient, faulty or time-worn components; improper combustion ratios; and improper venting and/or seal leaks, among other things. Poor efficiency results in higher energy bills and discomfort. As well, inefficient gas appliances often consume more than their share of household energy.
